At number 1 on the Promenade des Anglais, a glass and steel ocean liner dominates the cerulean blue of the “Baie des Anges”. Since its construction in 1974, Le Méridien Nice hotel has been one of the brand’s flagship properties. Its exceptional location overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Albert 1 garden, just a short stroll away from luxury boutiques, makes it a most convenient base near the old town and the famous flower market on Cours Saleya.

Bringing the bright light of the Côte d’Azur into the hotel’s various spaces was the common thread of the 2019 renovation. Graphic patterns, clean lines, and bright, sunny colors evoke the beach, warm sand, and the splashes of a yacht on turquoise water.

The view from most of the 324 rooms and suites is an invitation to contemplation. To enhance this feeling, interior designer Didier Gomez favored sand tones, dark wood floors, leather headboards, enhanced by coral curtains, turquoise stools, and curated vintage photos on the walls. The decoration is identical in all rooms, varying only in size.

The bathrooms have also been redesigned. The sobriety of white marble and Corian is tempered by exotic wood in the showers. The toiletries from L’Occitane are suitable for both women and men, with natural formulas sourced from the south of France.

Located on the ninth floor next to the fitness center, the rooftop bar La Terrasse with a panoramic view of the Baie des Anges is a spot cherished by Niçois and visitors alike. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from May to October.

Le Méridien participates in the global travel program Marriott Bonvoy®, offering members a large portfolio of global brands, exclusive experiences and unparalleled benefits.
