Since its creation, the park of Luberon has had as its main objective protecting the landscapes and the cultural and human heritage. This great success explains the notoriety of this region, which has preserved its identity over the centuries. It is in the heart of these beautiful surroundings that one can discover the Michelin starred Phébus & Spa…

A bit of history

In the 90s, the Mathieu family acquired a 7-hectare estate classified as a historic monument dating from the Knights of the Order of Malta. Over the years the house has constantly been expanded, renovated and embellished to create the beautiful Relais & Châteaux you find today.

Why «Phoebus»?
Simply as a tribute to the exceptional light of the area that seduced the greatest painters, including Cezanne and so many others. Today, it is one of the finest and most elegant establishments in the region, a jewel of hospitality appreciated for its Michelin-starred restaurant and for the exceptional and serene comfort of its 5-star hotel.

Prestigious Rooms & Suites

After 5 months of renovation work, the hotel now has 29 rooms including superb prestigious suites with a private heated pool, from which you can enjoy breathtaking views of the park and the Luberon region. The big innovation this year is a new VIP villa buried in the greenery and flowers of a park of 7000m2 with its private heated pool and it has 5 air-conditioned rooms from 30 m2 to 60 m2.

This is a jewel for guests looking for exclusive accommodation and extreme privacy. Transformations are discovered in the lobby upon arrival. The magic begins with an open space giving access to the lounge area where the completely redesigned bar is located. This new distribution of rooms is complemented by the restaurant’s layout which sports a glass roof opening over the large terrace and a new private room.

A Michelin-starred restaurant

Gastronomy is one of the major assets of the Phébus. Chef Xavier MATHIEU, guided by his inspirations, amazes his diners through his inventiveness and his perpetual search for new taste associations, while keeping the spirit and DNA of the Provence. This Chef, who is a Michelin-starred chef in France, draws his inspiration from the Mediterranean cuisine that he interprets over the seasons and offers dishes inspired by his origins. As for the sommeliers, they can advise customers using their know-how of a wine list with no less than 400 choices. In a simpler register the menu is deliberately limited and offers dishes made from seasonal produce from our kitchen garden, all in a Provençal village atmosphere around the fountain well and petanque.

The art of relaxation

A haven of well-being ideally located a few steps from the pool and in symbiosis with nature, the Spa is a sanctuary of silence, tranquillity and relaxation for residents and outside customers. The new large heated pool created this year now features massage jets and two outdoor Jacuzzis. The Spa area includes 3 treatment rooms including one room for two, a rest room, a fitness room and a tea room which have the advantage of enjoying the light and the open view of the Park.

The Luberon, natural and cultural heritage

The establishment benefits from being in an exceptional tourist destination. The variety of pleasures offered attract athletes, lovers of old stones and antiques and gourmands of local produce. The 18-hole Saumane Golf Course is only 25 minutes away. Trout fishermen and antique lovers will find lots to do on the Ile-sur-la-Sorgue. And we forgot to tell you, the icing on the cake, the hotel has its own private helipad … decidedly the Phébus & Spa is worth the detour!
