ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research and H3 Dynamics, a Singaporean technology scale-up, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on projects developing hydrogen use in aviation and advanced air mobility. The signing took place during the Paris Air Show by ZAL’s CEO Roland Gerhards and Taras Wankewycz, founder and CEO of H3 Dynamics.
Together, ZAL and H3 Dynamics will explore the acceleration of hydrogen in aviation, including unmanned aviation, fueling of commercial aircraft, and ground operations. An area of particular interest will be ramping up the production of H3 Dynamics‘ ultra-light fuel cell systems for different types of extended range hydrogen-electric UAS.
With the support of Hamburg Invest’s Scaleup Landing Pad program, H3 Dynamics plans to open a new location at ZAL shortly, using ZAL’s expanding office and laboratory space. A move that further strengthens H3 Dynamics’ presence in Germany’s hydrogen ecosystem. Hamburg will be the fourth location for the growing technology company, joining the ranks of Singapore, Toulouse, and Austin (Texas). The collaboration between ZAL and H3 Dynamics began in the Sustainable Aero Lab, a leading accelerator program for sustainable aviation startups founded at ZAL in 2020, where both CEOs serve as startup mentors.
The signing of the MoU between ZAL and H3 Dynamics in Le Bourget is a significant step in ZAL’s strategy to increase its footprint in sustainable aviation and technology innovation.
