The Vasarely Fondation, in collaboration with Artcurial, is organizing a special auction on March 21st , 2025, in Aix-en-Provence. Under the patronage of Jean-Dominique Senard, president of Renault, this event will highlight the visionary work of Victor Vasarely, a pioneer of optical art, alongside pieces by contemporary artists such as Lucien Bitaux, Zsuzsanna Korodi, and Étienne Rey. Major figures of kinetic and optical art, including Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jesús-Rafael Soto, will also be featured.
Among the standout works is “Arcturus II” (1964-1965), a striking acrylic on canvas by Vasarely, with a starting price of €120,000.
Other works will be available, including serigraphs and multiples, reflecting Vasarely’s ambition to make art more accessible.
Proceeds from the auction will support the scientific and cultural projects of the Vasarely Foundation and the restoration of its monumental works.
