Richard Dabkowski has been appointed as Director of Quality Assurance for the North American maintenance, refurbishment and completions business Flying Colours Corp. Richard, who will be based at the company’s Peterborough, ON. facility, reports directly to Tony Barrett, Vice President, Technical Services, Flying Colours Corp. Richard is now responsible for all aspects of quality control relating to matters of airworthiness for maintenance, manufacturing, completion, and the Canadian NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program), at the Peterborough site. In addition, he will be responsible for the on-going evaluation and improvement of other internal quality assurance programs, as well as managing the company’s AS9100C status. Externally, liaison with Transport Canada and foreign regulatory agencies will form a key part of the role. His career spans over 30 years in aviation. He joined the Flying Colours maintenance team in 2011 following nine years as an independent consultant conducting aircraft maintenance record audits and providing technical consulting services for aircraft imports/exports. Prior to this he worked in maintenance roles for AMO company Kelowna Flightcraft Ltd (now KWAerospace), and cargo company, All Canada Express Ltd. With his strong background in quality inspections, knowledge of technical records and aviation maintenance, as well as, experience and knowledge of Flying Colours Corp. procedures, Richard is well positioned to fulfill the Director of Quality Assurance position.
