Airmont, the specialist in optimized inflight streaming solutions, has announced a strategic relationship with DIRECTV IN FLIGHT to bring JetVision by DIRECTV™ to private aircraft. This cooperation enables passengers on private flights to enjoy world-class live entertainment — from major sporting events and breaking news to movies and TV shows — with the same ease and quality they expect at home.
JetVision by DIRECTV™ is an IPTV solution delivering premium live programming including news, sports, weather, TV shows, and films with no additional onboard equipment required. Passengers can watch live content on cabin displays via streaming devices such as Roku and Apple TV+, or on personal devices — laptops, tablets, and smartphones — through the Airmont Player and Airmont Player+ apps, or directly via an internet browser.
“This collaboration merges DIRECTV’s rich entertainment offering with Airmont’s advanced optimization technology — redefining what passengers can expect from in-flight connectivity and streaming,” said an Airmont spokesperson.
Through this cooperation, Airmont will integrate JetVision by DIRECTV into its service portfolio, ensuring a seamless entertainment experience with proprietary optimization technologies that:
– reduce bandwidth consumption per stream,
– minimize the number of live feeds opened on the internet,
– and guarantee smooth playback from takeoff to landing.
Operators and aircraft owners will also benefit from real-time stream supervision tools, allowing them to monitor user experience and enhance operational efficiency. The Airmont service is enabled onboard through compatible avionics systems such as the AVDS Node by Innovative Advantage.
