The full-service FBO at Stephenville International Airport (CYJT) has resumed operations under new ownership and joined the Avfuel Network, enhancing the services, fuel programs and operational support available to operators in Canada’s North Atlantic region.
Stephenville International Airport Corporation, supported by BTG Capital, acquired the airport in June 2026 following its closure. The reopening of the FBO marks an important step in reactivating the historic aviation site and establishing a premier technical stop and service destination for domestic and international operators.
Located in the St. George’s Bay area of Newfoundland and Labrador, Stephenville International Airport was originally constructed in 1941 by the United States Army Air Force and is one of Atlantic Canada’s most unique aviation assets. Its 10,000-foot runway can accommodate a wide range of aircraft, including large commercial and cargo aircraft, positioning Stephenville as an ideal international tech stop.
The FBO operates from the airport’s full-service, 20,000 square foot terminal, which features well-appointed pilot and passenger lounges, a conference room with full A/V capabilities and seating for 10, additional meeting-room availability, complimentary refreshments and a state-of-the-art flight-planning space. Its dedicated team provides 24/7 ground handling, customs support (available in the fourth quarter of 2026) and personalized concierge support.
