Hubert de Malherbe is passionate about aviation and auto racing. Founder of the eponymous agency, he is a certified instrument-rated pilot and the designer for the Daher group, which manufactures TBM aircraft in France and Kodiak planes in the United States.
Staying true to his three lifelong passions—design, aviation, and automobiles—he has chosen to showcase three iconic objects all centered around one idea: giving a second life to consumer goods from the 1980s. Second Life embodies a responsible approach aimed at reducing negative environmental impacts.

The MALHERBE PARIS agency has reimagined a 1992 TBM 700 six-seat aircraft’s interior as a functional suite, inspired by luxury hotel design both in aesthetics and materials. The design was developed in collaboration with Pinton carpets, and Panaz and Métaphores textiles. The aircraft is the only TBM based at Le Bourget.
While retaining its original design, the Mercedes eSL R107 car has been fitted with a high-end and modern electric drivetrain by Monceau Automobiles, specialists in vintage restoration and electric conversion of Mercedes-Benz classics.
Second Life is a story of reuse, reinvention, and excellence. It demonstrates that elegance and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand—both in the air and on the ground.
Malherbe Paris is a global creative group with deep expertise in the world of luxury, excelling in both the design of physical spaces and the creation of compelling storytelling—far beyond conventional approaches.
