Albinati Aeronautics’ Falcon 6X is now fully authorized to operate charter flights into London City Airport (EGLC), one of the most operationally demanding airports in Europe, only one month after its first operation at Cannes-Mandelieu Airport.
Not all business jets can land everywhere. Certain airports, such as London City and Cannes-Mandelieu, enforce strict safety, regulatory, and environmental standards due to factors like short runways, dense urban surroundings, or sensitive noise zones.
These measures are not obstacles — they’re safeguards. To operate there, both aircraft and crew must undergo rigorous certification and training processes, ensuring every flight meets the highest levels of precision and control.
London City Airport (EGLC) offers unmatched proximity to Canary Wharf and the City’s financial district, making it a key hub for high-level business travel.
But its operational constraints are significant:
– Operations are subject to limited time slots and a Noise Categorization Scheme (ANCS) under a quota system..
– A 1,508 m runway and 5.5° steep approach (compared to the standard 3°) limit access to aircraft specifically certified for such landings.
Pilots must complete:
– Simulator training / Line training at EGLC
– Recurrent checks
