Airmont, a specialist in live television delivery over onboard connectivity, announces the first operational deployment of its live TV solution fully integrated with DPI Labs’ certified avionics platform. The collaboration combines Airmont’s StreamTime technology with DPI Labs’ cabin entertainment infrastructure to bring seamless live television into the business aviation passenger experience.

At the core of the integration, the Airmont Gateway operates as a virtual machine hosted directly within DPI Labs’ Multimedia and Moving Map Server, eliminating the need for a separate physical gateway. The MMS can support more than 100 simultaneous passenger streams. Airmont’s proprietary live TV streaming technology, StreamTime, transports and optimizes live television streams over the aircraft’s available connectivity, making efficient use of bandwidth and helping operators manage connectivity costs. The solution operates seamless on Eutelsat’s OneWeb constellation, used by the Gogo Galileo system. The Airmont Player application runs on an aviation-grade Apple TV provided by DPI Labs, while passengers can access and control the TV experience using an iPad by scanning a QR code.

As onboard connectivity continues to evolve, business aviation passengers increasingly expect access to live news, entertainment and major events, just as they do on the ground. This integration enables operators to meet these expectations by adding live television to the cabin entertainment experience while making better use of their existing onboard connectivity.
