The Skylark Field Terminal in Killeen, Texas is officially open and ready to welcome travelers. The new Central Texas facility, which opened its doors on October 10, marks a significant upgrade for the region’s aviation infrastructure.
The 3,000-square-foot terminal, built entirely from the ground up, was designed to elevate the travel experience while improving operational efficiency for the local aviation community. With its modern amenities and welcoming atmosphere, the terminal underscores the city’s commitment to delivering excellence in aviation services.

Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a bright, spacious reception area, alongside comfortable pilot and passenger lounges, a well-equipped meeting room, and a modern kitchen offering complimentary refreshments. Every element of the interior was crafted with comfort, functionality, and a first-class experience in mind.
Beyond its physical features, the terminal highlights a strong focus on sustainability and aviation education. The facility incorporates solar panels and charging stations to reduce its environmental footprint while also supporting students at Central Texas College as they pursue their Flight Instructor Certifications.
Skylark Field Airport itself is a general aviation hub offering a 5,495-foot runway, 24-hour self-service Jet A and 100LL fuel, and efficient line service. With 48 hangars accommodating up to 64 based aircraft—from single-engine airplanes to a King Air 250—the airfield is well positioned to support a diverse aviation community.
With the terminal’s opening, the City of Killeen also introduces Avfuel to the airfield. As an Avfuel-branded partner, the FBO now provides AVTRIP rewards, competitive Avfuel Contract Fuel pricing, and seamless Avfuel Pro Card transaction capabilities for both fuel and non-fuel purchases.
