Jet Aviation has officially launched initial operations at its new Miami-Opa Locka facility, marking the company’s 12th FBO in the United States and expanding its global network to around 30 FBOs worldwide. Full completion of the site is expected by mid-2026.
The initial operational phase already provides a broad array of passenger, crew, and aircraft services, including a temporary terminal, a 540,000 sq. ft ramp capable of hosting larger-cabin, ultra-long-range business jets, two new taxiway connections, and fueling with Jet-A, 100LL, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The site also offers drive-on ramp access via a private entrance.
Upon full completion next year, the facility will feature an 8,500 sq. ft Silver LEED-certified FBO building, equipped with EV charging stations, LED lighting, photovoltaic panels, on-site Customs and Border Protection, dedicated office space, and 40,000 sq. ft of hangar space available for transient aircraft.
“Jet Aviation set up its first FBO in the US in 1984, and since then we have been committed to evolving our presence in the region to support our customers when and where they need us,” said David Best, Senior Vice President Regional Operations Americas. “Miami continues to develop as a major business aviation hub, offering a global gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean.”
Founded in 1967 in Basel, Switzerland, Jet Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics. The company opened its first U.S. FBO in Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1984, followed by West Palm Beach in 1985 and Teterboro in 1988. Today, its global footprint includes newly acquired locations in Milwaukee (2024) and Paris-Le Bourget (2025).
