Gama Aviation’s Special Mission strategic business unit has announced the acquisition of Capital Air Ambulance (subject to closing) from Centreline, augmenting the Group’s fixed wing air ambulance services in the UK.
On closing, the deal will see the transition of the Capital team to Gama Aviation, enhancing the resilience of the Group’s CQC and Eurami approved clinical team, as well as its flight operations and pilot cadre.
“Strategically, the acquisition allows us to achieve two complementary activities: one, grow our share of the repatriation market and two, enhance the productivity of our non-contracted air ambulance fleet. With this deal, we will achieve both goals in a shorter timescale, and with less execution risk, than if we had organically grown our existing share,” commented Mark Smith, Managing Director, Special Mission.
Capital Air Ambulance provided rapid response medical repatriation services with a guaranteed bed-to-bed service, and was one of the UK’s leading specialist air ambulance services prior to the acquisition.
