During the Ebace show, Rockwell Collins and Comlux have signed a general agreement in which Rockwell Collins will provide its customers with a full range of products. In addition to avionics, Rockwell Collins is committed to offering cabin management, content and entertainment options, seating, lighting, kitchen products and connectivity via ARINCDirectSM systems. Engineering work on the first two aircraft awarded under this five-year agreement is underway. Products from the entire portfolio have been selected for an upgrade to a first BBJ MAX by Comlux America at its Indianapolis-based facility.
“With our agreement and exclusive access to Rockwell Collins’ broad product portfolio, we can optimize cabin layout cycles and achieve operational balance without compromising the design and elegance of our cabins. We are able to provide cost-effective solutions in cabin technology, warranty and spare parts, and ensure that our customers receive the best handling throughout the life cycle of their aircraft, and not just in the development work, “says Scott Meyer, CEO of Comlux Completion in a press release.
In return, Rockwell Collins will have the opportunity to provide solutions for all refurbishment and cabin upgrade projects at Comlux, and will also have access to its charter fleet to validate the design, get feedback from crew and passengers and for the certification of new products.
